The team at NINE dot ARTS is excited to announce a new internship program, designed to engage the next generation of art professionals in using the power of art to transform the average business environment. The program, which will launch in January 2019 with five intern positions supporting all facets of the organization, is designed to provide comprehensive insight and hands-on experience in the art advisory business, while encouraging students across disciplines to explore a career in the arts. Resumes will be accepted on an ongoing basis, with a December 10 deadline to submit resumes to join the inaugural class of Intern Dots.

“NINE dot ARTS operates in a distinct position at the intersection of art and business, providing a unique opportunity for students to approach future arts careers from both perspectives,” said Martha Weidmann, CEO of NINE dot ARTS. “While the number of jobs in arts and design is projected to grow over the next decade, it’s expected to do so at a slower rate than average. This program, one of the only paid Fine Arts internships in Colorado, is an opportunity to engage students in the multi-faceted career opportunities available in the arts, while ensuring they are equipped with business acumen and skills to be an integral part of Denver’s $2 billion cultural and creative economy.”

Internship positions will support art curation teams on projects in Denver and throughout the U.S., artist relations through online platform Dotfolio and marketing.

“We ultimately hope to hire several of the interns to join our team as a full-time, salaried position at the completion of the program,” added Weidmann.

The six-month internship program, led by NINE dot ARTS Art Administrator Amy Smith, will begin twice per year in January and May. Applicants should be in their senior year, graduate school or recent graduates and will receive a stipend of $1,500 while also eligible to receive school credit.
